Clinique Happy by Clinique launched in 1999 for men. After a successful launch for the womens version, Clinique created an equally as successful mens version. Clinique was launched by Estee Lauder in 1968. Having read an article about the importance of skincare, the Lauder family set out to develop a line of dermatologist tested skin care with rigorous standards and testing regarding allergic reactions and fragrance-free products. Wanting to ensure the quality and message of this line, they named it "Clinique" after the French word for 'clinical'. Clinique launched their first fragrance in 1971 and has since launched over 40 more.
